Frédéric decided to make this cuvée in order to celebrate the 90 years old of this fabulous vineyard and the 90 years old of Michel Lafarge. At this time, both of them were in a good shape. It was important for us to celebrate it. Indeed, this vineyard was planted by my great-grandfather Henri Lafarge. He was one of the first winemaker to sell his production in bottle. It started in 1936 with the Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes and the Bourgogne Passetoutgrain from this vineyard for the vintage 1934.

This cuvée is a tribute to their family. It’s an honor to work in a vineyard which crossed generations. They called this “Anthologie” for one reason. 2018 was an exceptional vintage with a great quality and nice quantities. It was an anthologic vintage. 1928 which was the birth year of Michel Lafarge, and the year of plantation of this vineyard was an exceptional vintage too. One of the best vintages of this decade and which is still drinkable and delicious.
