Domaine Belargus Ronceray 2018 is as unique as it is exceptional. A wine vinified dry in an area famous for sweet wines, this is a special example of the Chenin Blanc grape. Coming from schist and pudding sandstone of the Grand Cru Quarts de Chaume, Ronceray possesses opulent fruit, intense minerality, and an everlasting freshness. It is aged in a mix of stainless steel and oak barrels for 18 months which develops immense texture and longevity. Domaine Belargus currently declassifies the fruit from the Grand Cru status of Quarts de Chaume to Anjou due to strict wine laws prohibiting dry wine to carry the label, but because of this bottling, the appellation will hopefully reconsider the potential of dry wines from the Quarts de Chaume. It is one of the finest examples of a Chenin Blanc on the planet.
