From the coveted villages portion of La Bossière and other select parcels spanning three hectares, Claude Dugat Gevrey-Chambertin 2021 captures the essence of this prestigious terroir. Since 2013, a dedicated shift towards organic farming, with a touch of biodynamic influence, has shaped the viticultural practices, nurturing the grapes in harmony with nature. The soils, a harmonious blend of clay and limestone, bestow a unique mineral character to the wine, adding depth and complexity to every sip. In the cellar, tradition reigns supreme. The grapes are gently destemmed and meticulously fermented in concrete vats with punch downs, ensuring a graceful evolution without excessive oxygen exposure. Aged for 14 months in one-year-old Francois Frères barrels, the wine gains structure and finesse. Claude Dugat refrains from any chaptalization or acidification, allowing the wine to remain a true reflection of its terroir, showcasing the purest expression of Gevrey-Chambertin.
