This is Pinot Noir and Chardonnay coming from Egly’s oldest vines in the Grand Cru village of Ambonnay. The juice is both fermented and aged in barrel, some of which is new. The wine also ages on its lees for 96-100 months before release. Millesime means “vintage” and all this fruit comes from 2014.
A singular expression that has almost a palpable sense of patience once uncorked. This wine demonstrates what can be done with the finest juice on a good vintage showcasing the nerve and texture that all age worthy bottles strive for.
