Egly-Ouriet Coteaux Champenois Rouge Ambonnay Cuvée des Grands Côtes Vieilles Vignes 2021 is a testament to the artistry of organic winemaking, embodying the essence of a single vineyard site just below the legendary Les Crayères in Ambonnay. Francis Egly and his team produce one of the most sought after still wines in all of Champagne. This south-facing, clay-dominated vineyard produces a silky red-fruited expression of Pinot Noir with subtle spice and lots of minerality. This 60+ year old parcel is picked later with low yields and is aged in 30% new oak barrels for 22 months, helping to produce a deeply concentrated singular expression of Coteaux Champenois. Reminiscent of some of the best red burgundy, these wines help display the unlimited potential of still wines in this coveted region.
