Unlike some of the other lauded Burgundy producers, Jérôme Galeyrand does not come from a winemaking family. Rather he grew up in the Loire Valley of France and worked in the food industry before working a few harvests in Gevrey-Chambertin. This peaked his interest for wine so he pursued school for Enology in Beaune, Burgundy.
Post graduation, he had high ambitions but little vineyard to work with, 0.05ha (about a tenth of an acre.) This didn't slow his pursuit and he has since garnered 5 ha from some of the most coveted parcels. Vinification takes place in his home cellar and production is small at just 2,000 cases per vintage.
