Rivers-Marie is owned and operated by husband and wife, winemaker Thomas Brown and Genevieve Welsh. For years, the wines were primarily sold through their allocation list with very limited domestic distribution.
Rivers-Marie proves year after year that they are masters of their craft. Singular wines are made to reflect the vineyard and vintage from which they came.
Thomas Rivers Brown is behind many of Napa Valley’s elite Cabernet Sauvignons, including his work with Shrader and Robert Mondavi. Standing on the shoulders of giants, Brown continues to get recognition and acclaim for his work and turns his sights fully towards his passion for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The namesake is derived from Brown's middle name and his partner Genevieve's. With their purchase of the Summa Vineyard in 2010, Rivers Marie was off to make some of the best Pinot Noir and Chardonnays in Northern California.
Some would call his style of winemaking restrained, which involves minimal interferences with the fruit and adds to the aging potential of each of his Pinot Noirs. Even Burgundy lovers will find the finesse of these wines enticing, and if you love California Pinot, Thomas Rivers Brown’s wines should be on your next dinner table. These bottles won't last long and can be hard to come by, be sure to add some to your glass or cellar today.
