Morey-Coffinet delights with wines produced in a thoughtful and intentional manner by the rising star of Burgundy, Thibault Morey. Armed with the intellect and training of his parents, Michel and Fabienne, who founded the estate, Thibault has taken the domaine to soaring heights.
Being from a long-lineage of winemaking heritage, he absorbed this knowledge and extended it to employ more thoughtful farming practices, becoming certified biodynamic in 2014. These extended duties include implementing natural remedies such as teas in place of all chemicals. As such, the wines have increasingly become more and more indicative of the individual vineyards he works with.
The Ladoix Chardonnay is harvested from the northern end of the Côte de Beaune that abutts the Côte de Nuits. Its slopes of 30-year-old vines profer wines of intensity and verve with generous layers of graham cracker, sweet lemon, and baked apple.
