Jean-Marc Roulot of the legendary Domaine Roulot in Meursault, met his friend Piero Incisa della Rocchetta at dinner in Burgundy and expressed interest in producing a white cuveé in Argentina. Since that moment, the two have not looked back, producing unique and expressive Chardonnays that will change the way one thinks about Argentine wine. Their first vintage was produced in 2017, and they continuously improved since their inception 6 years ago.
Coming from three different plots situated in a mix of sand and clay soils, these Chardonnay grapes, picked early to retain freshness, deliver the perfect blend of fruit, minerality and florality. Aged in a mix of cement, stainless steel, and French oak (12% new) with partial malolactic fermentation, this wine is a distinctive style of Chardonnay. The mineral qualities are apparent, showcasing themselves with a distinct smokiness and salinity. The fruit presents itself as a mix of orchard and citrus, and is tied together by elegant white flowers. Everything comes together cohesively to develop a stunning expression of the grape.
