Pinot Meunier is the traditional grape variety of the Marne Valley, and is the most adapted to this region to highlight and distinguish its richly diverse terroir. For these reasons, Baron has chosen to grow and vinify only Pinot Meunier.
From old vines planted in Charly-sur-Marne. The base wines are fermented in cask on native yeasts and finish their malolactic fermentation before ageing three years. The result is the most winning of Baron’s Champagnes, with admirable depth of flavour and a pleasantly lingering finish. This has all the benefits of 100% Pinot Meunier with a bit more depth and complexity.
