The Domaine du Pélican Trois Cépages is a blend of Jura’s three red grapes: Pinot Noir (60%), Trousseau (35%), and Poulsard (5%). The vineyards are located in Montigny-les-Arsures and are a mix of black and gray marl soil and covered with fallen rocks. Aged in a mix of Burdundian barrels and foudres, this a tart red fruited expression of the classic Jura blend with plenty of florals, herbs, and minerality. Its versatility matches perfectly with a range of cuisine, and it can be enjoyed young and fresh, or stored away to reveal even more complexities. The 2019 vintage in Jura began on a colder start which gradually gave way to a longer and warmer growing season. A tiny crop of fruit resulted in wines that have beautiful fruit concentration with a backbone of tartness and vibrancy.
