Embracing fresh challenges with a spirit of innovation, Dominique Lafon embarked on his independent winemaking journey in 2008, setting himself apart from the family domaine. Cultivating approximately 4.5 hectares of picturesque vineyards nestled in Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Volnay, and Beaune, Lafon's unique approach unfolds amidst the legal confines of a négociant, a status earned due to his shared winemaking space in Burgundy's heartland. Think of it as a bespoke winemaking sanctuary, tailor-made for his craft.
Within this enigmatic realm, Lafon's Bourgogne Blanc emerges, sourced meticulously from two distinct parcels: 0.60 hectares in Meursault's coveted lieu-dit "Les Grandes Coutures" and 1.20 hectares in Puligny-Montrachet's renowned lieu-dit "Les Femelottes." Here, vines aged between 20 to 50 years bear the fruits of tradition and wisdom, infusing the wine with a rich heritage. In each bottle, Lafon's Bourgogne Blanc embodies not just the terroir of Burgundy but also the essence of his relentless pursuit of vinous excellence, a testament to his audacious spirit and unwavering dedication.
