Launched in 2020 by Raghni Naidu and her husband, this is the first female (Punjabi) Indian-owned wine brand in the United States. Based in Sebastopol, Naidu Wines is a boutique winery specializing in Pinot Noir. the winery is named after her husband's family name from Chennai and conveys the essence of her family and belief in the freedom to create one's own path following one's dreams and passions.
The family immigrated to the United States in 2006 and settled in San Francisco. Raghni soon discovered the nearby wine country of Sonoma County. In 2018 she found a Pinot Noir vineyard owned by a first-generation Italian-American couple that had been farming it for over 30 years and winning awards for the grapes. Mesmerized by the property, Raghni decided to buy it and Naidu Wines was born. She was inspired by Merry Edwards of Merry Edwards Winery in Sebastopol.
Naidu Wines debuted in 2020 with a 25-case bottling of a Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir that sold out on release.
